On August 25, 2023, Pension Benefit Information, LLC (“PBI”) filed a notice with the Attorney General of Maine on behalf of Standard Insurance Company (“The Standard”) after learning about a MOVEit data breach affecting The Standard customers. In this notice, PBI explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. After completing an investigation, PBI began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected by the recent data security incident.

In Waxahachie, Texas, there was a serious car crash on August 11, 2023. It happened on US 287, about a mile east of Cayuga. Two men lost their lives in the accident.
The crash took place at 5:18 PM and involved two vehicles: a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2021 Ford F250. The weather was good, and the road was dry when the accident occurred. Both vehicles were going at the speed limit of 70 mph.
